This afternoon, Year 5 took part in the British Athletics Sportshall Athletics Award. They had a series of challenges to participate in with children competing against themselves to set, and then try to beat, their own personal score. The aim of the circuit was to try to gain as many points as possible in order to qualify for a British Athletics Award!
It was great to see the WHOLE of Year 5 participating in competitive action in a friendly and encouraging environment. A massive thank-you to Moorside High School's Ms. Harp and her Sports Leaders who led the session brilliantly alongside Mrs Stone (who also competed alongside the children- what a role model!)
Those children (and teachers) who wish to know their scores will be able to as soon as the working out has been completed! Well done Year 5!
Head on over to our P.E. & Sports News page to see some pictures of the afternoon.
