KS2 Cheerleading - Thursdays - 8.00-8.45
Miss Goodwin's fantastic Cheerleading Club runs from mid-Autumn to mid-Summer, with an expanded 25 places available! Learn routines, work as a team and prepare for some fantastic performances! Each year, St John's Cheerleaders compete in the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent School Games Cheerleading Competition held at Fenton Manor Sports Complex and also perform at our school's annual Summer Fayre.
Tag Rugby - Mondays - 12.00-12.30
Open to all girls and boys during March/April/May/June. Led by Mr Price.
All children are welcome to participate in training sessions. Sessions focus on ball skills, team-work, defence, attack and of course, the extremely important TAGGING technique.
Due to Cheadle And District School Sports Association & Staffordshire School Games rules we may only send a squad of 10 children to each tournament that we participate in. Tournament rules also state that each team must have a minimum of 2 girls on the pitch at all times but at St. John's we endeavour to aim for a 50/50 split between boys and girls in mixed gender events.
Selecting children to represent St. John's at Tag Rugby is becoming an ever increasingly more difficult task year upon year. However, as a staff we do encourage as many children as possible to participate in their relevant year group's training session in order to develop skills and friendships that will stay with them as they progress through St. John's and beyond.
