What is it?
Professor Barry Carpenter has developed a recovery curriculum as a response to the losses that children may have experienced in different ways during this time. The common thread running through this loss is loss of routine, structure, friendship, opportunity and freedom. These losses can trigger anxiety in any child.
We know that an anxious child is not in a place to learn effectively. With this in mind. the school community has been considering how to ease the children's reintroduction to school and re-ignite their ability to learn. We want our children to be happy, feel safe and enable them to re-engage with their learning.
In order to support the children's mental health and well-being we have adopted the 5 levers developed by Professor Carpenter.
Huge thank-you to all parents for your patience and support during this unprecedented time. We are totally committed to providing the childcare needed to enable essential professionals to continue to deliver their vital services during this period.
Once again, thank you for your support.
