Dear Parents / Carers
I hope that this message finds you well. As we will not be able to join together as a school for this year's Harvest Festival Worship, Y6 will be stepping up by preparing and filming a virtual Harvest Worship for the whole school to enjoy and reflect upon. I'd like to thank the many class members who have volunteered to be readers- many of whom have spent time at home learning their words to a really good standard. Great work! Thanks also to those children who will be participating in other ways - it would not be possible without their help.
We will continue to film the worship over the course of the rest of this week and, all being well, it should be ready to view next Monday. Unfortunately, our school website does not have capacity to host the video, so this will need to be done using the school's YouTube account. This account hosts videos for us to link to on our school website. The video will remain unlisted (which means that it won't be returned in search results if searched for on YouTube) and will be viewable on our school site's R.E. page.
As an example, Mr Price's weekly Celebration Assemblies follow this particular method and can be found here.
I felt it important to explain the above as I will require parental permission for children to participate in the worship and for it to be hosted on the YouTube site. Again, this will be as an unlisted video with the only active link to the video being provided through our school website.
If you would not like your child to participate then this is absolutely fine. I can ask other children to step into their role to enable us to complete the worship and deliver what is a really important element of our school's - and Y6's - ongoing commitment to Christian values.
Please provide consent for your child to be an active participant in this year's Harvest Worship if you would like them to take part.
